While I truly enjoy using my hands to create, through drawing and painting, I have begun to experiment more with digital (computer generated) artwork. Most are "mixed media" designs (using 2 or more different mediums in a piece), but I do have some that are completely digital creations. These are not just digitally enhanced photos. Many of my mixed media deigns start with an uploaded photo or scanned drawing, which I then experiment with, adding digital artwork, colors, designs, etc. I create to design an entirely new piece.

all through the dreamy night.

It captures the soul and wonders, of all our history." mlw

This is my first "digital" painting, meaning it was created solely on the computer. Using different colors, filters, lighting, etc., it was created in photoshop. It was inspired by our heavens that we don't see with the naked eye, but know are there, and I am very happy with how it turned out.

I created this piece in Photoshop. Starting with a photo of a pink lily, I added filters and many layers to achieve the final look. I also have another version I'm working on.
"The lilies open to the sun,
A sign that Spring has finally begun" mlw

This digital creation started with a photo of daisies and a pink glad and grew into this. This is not my original version. My original version didn't have the blues in it, mostly purple shades, but I felt like it needed another color to add some contrast. I still like them both, but feel this has a little more "punch".
Framed version of "Daisy Dreams" This is an 11"x14" frame around an 8"x10" print. I do not have this listed in the Web Store yet, but if interested in ordering, email me at dreamingartist@essenique-arts.com for more information. Thanks!

This was created using Photoshop. First, I scanned in 2 drawings I had done previously (the woman & the floral design). I then added wings to the lady, duplicated areas, and created the background areas.

2008-09 (photo sizes) "Inner Glow Love"
This piece was created in photoshop after blending several layers of different colors and styles. It grew from a single photo of a cluster of miniature rose blooms. I had a hard time deciding on a favorite one out of several versions, but this one stood out to me. I picked out a few of my favorites to include here, but you can see them all in the gallery. Directly below are "Inner Glow Darkness" and "Inner Glow Gold".

This was also arranged in Photoshop using a photo of a pink glad from my garden (original below). To me, it looks like there are butterflies fluttering on all four sides of the glad. I created a few variations using the pink glad photo which you can see below

Where fairy dreams are born and grow.
Where magic spells fill the air.
A world without limits. A world without care." mlw

I really love the magical world of fairies, sorcerers, etc, but do not praise my ability to draw people but wanted to try. Drawing her with her back facing the viewer helped me to avoid facial details. This started with an original drawing of mine. I then used Photoshop to create the background. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

I created this design starting with a pencil drawing I sketched. After scanning it into Photoshop, I added the color and background along with the saying. This was also done for a friend for Christmas.

A while back, I had created several different versions of my "In Love" photo (original found on the Digital Manipulation page) and these were my favorites, but wasn't sure I wanted to display each of them separately so decided to try them in a group as one piece.

2007 (5x7) For this mother's day piece, I took a colored pencil drawing I had done, cropped it and manipulated it using a "sponge" filter and added a poem I wrote.
| How I became "As I grew throughout the years , You let me make my own decisions, While keeping your advice very near. You molded me with patience and love, along with a little help from dad (and, I'm sure, a little from above). You helped me learn to trust while also being cautious, That it's ok to ask for help, as it is fulfilling to lend a hand and how to love as well as deserving to be loved. " © mlw'07

My husband is a huge Beatles' fan so I created this collage piece for him for Christmas. I put it together using Photoshop. Most are images from the 'net except for the drawing in the left corner, which is a sketch I did. The words to "Imagine" are in the right corner area. My goal was to incorporate both the early years and the later years of the band and each member. I was very pleased with how it all came together.

This K-State collage was also created using Photoshop. It was done as a Christmas present for a Wildcats fan and a good friend.

Using Photoshop to create the layers, this was also a Christmas present for a KU fan & friend.

These two pictures have been manipulated using different colors and filters with spotlight added. The original picture used in picture on left was of some portulaca (a flowering plant). A combination of portulaca and a mum bloom was used in the picture on the right.
